I had trouble finding working themes. I did use it later on after it was declining in popularity, though.

Eh yeah, if I were to start a forum again, I'd probably make use of the Xenforo software I purchased and just pay the fee to re-up updates on the license.

I've thought about getting a XenForo license for this forum, but there's a certain charm to phpBB's jankiness.

I mean if that's the case phpBB isn't good either cause it has a built in Admin CP, Mod CP, a registration form, a staff team page.....
