Do You Play an Instrument?

Inspired by another thread: do you?
I have tried a lot of instruments:
My violin didn't go well, and my clarinet kept breaking.
I have an ocarina I haven't managed to figure out how to play yet but still love...
But really the only instrument I'm decent with is piano/keyboard.
Oh, and my voice. :'D

I took piano lessons as a kid and took a couple of piano classes in college, but I haven't gone any further with it.

I don't. I tried learning bass guitar when I was a teenager but then I went deaf and had to give it up.
It sucks because it was something I enjoyed but was never really good at. I could never get the knack of it but I always wonder if I never lost my hearing if I would've stuck with it and gotten better.

I didn't realize that you were deaf, Smokey. May I ask what age you were when you became deaf?

I've met people who are deaf to some extent that still like to play music to some degree. My grandmother has been deaf in one ear since she was a child, at least, and she's the one whose piano and organ I practiced on the most.

I’ve tried instruments on and off over the years. In grade school very briefly tried flute and violin, but never got far. In one class we did do guitar, but never was great at that.
On my own did start keyboard, but stopped. I have several Native American flutes which I never got far with though I’d like to try again with those. Love how they sound. And I have an ocarina I got for Christmas one year. Never really did much with that though.

I was 18, happened late 2008, or early 2009. Can't remember exactly but it happened suddenly and I remember first going to a hearing specialist in April of 2009, so it was prior to that.

I used to play guitar and piano growing up. I’ll still strum the guitar once in awhile but I hardly play anymore.
