How many trash cans do you have around your house?

Way too fucking many, but we kind of need them...

Probably four or five.

We also have separate containers for trash and recycling, so do the recycling containers count?

I have 5 in total throughout the house. My wife and I only have two downstairs in our living area, but my in laws have 3 upstairs. They have one in each bathroom and one in the kitchen, we have one in our bathroom and one in our kitchen area.
