What do you think about having camera's around the outside of your house to keep an eye on things?

I'm not a big fan of the surveillance society. I understand that people have safety concerns, but it's just... weird to think about how often you're being recorded, isn't it?

I probably wouldn't have them but having them is a feeling of security for my wife if she here's a weird sound outside she can look safely.

I can see maybe having a ring doorbell or something like that.

My sister has some stuff like that. Mostly just cause some of her neighbors kids like to mess with stuff on her property.

I've thought about getting one, but it still seems kind of weird to me. Maybe I'll get over it. XD

I mean, if it would help you could look into something that doesn't require connection to the Internet. Then you would just need the know how on how to setup access to the camera's from your phone or whatever.

Perhaps. We avoided IOT video baby monitors for the same reason. :P

Oh yeah, I had absolutely no interest of an IOT video monitor for my child...so much to the point that I bought a RasPi and some other stuff for it and it never hit the Internet...it broadcasted it's own local network that we would have to connect to to look at the monitor.

Yeah, I thought about doing something like that, but I thought it would be a bit much. We just ended up using one-way audio monitors.
