I would say not. I don't consider myself the most knowledgeable person about trans issues, but I'm far from ignorant; it's weird that I hadn't heard of her.

Yeah, she took a LOT of shit for being the first, she's up there for me because she broke that barrier, she opened the door for people like me to follow.
Yikes, I shudder to think of the number, it's got to be over 300, maybe more.
