Is esport a real sport?

Would you ever consider esport a real sport? In my honest opinion, I do think it's a real sport. People train themselves for hours and hours each day. There are big events that gather tens of thousands of people worldwide. There are prize pools and trophies as well. Esport might not be looked at as a sport by older generations, however, in the future, I think it will gain even more popularity.

It depends on your criteria, I suppose. In the sense of how competitive it is, I would say that it indeed qualifies. XD

I mean, based on the word esport and sports shouldn't really be under the same category if you ask me. They are their own independent categories.
