I know when I worked retail there was a lot of pressure to try and get people to buy additional items with the laptop to try and actually make money on the sale of a laptop.

Yes, I worked at Best Buy for a year when I was in college, selling PCs and tablets. It was all about selling accessories, warranties, tech support plans, etc. Oh, and they also absolutely loved it when you sold mobile broadband. :P

Ugh yeah I worked at Staples for a year during college myself xD so yeah. I hated upselling...probably cause I don't care to be upsold myself xD

I think I would rather have worked at Staples than Best Buy, at least. XD

Yeah I don't know what it would have been like back in the day to work at BestBuy. I'm sure working at both places has changed a bit now, I rarely get asked or countered about warranties but maybe it is cause I don't buy computers from box stores xD

I think the warranties (especially ADH protection plans) are justified for some people and/or some items. I love getting them on my headphones because I have a tendency to break those, and they're generally pretty cheap (a few dollars or so).
