How much is too much Internet?

Looking at how fast Internet speeds have gotten...what would you say is simply overkill or too much?

With cloud computing becoming the norm more and more, there might not be such a thing as "overkill" when it comes to Internet speed.

What comes to mind for me is the fact that some Internet speeds have much higher abilities than most people's home network equipment....unless what your ISP provides you is capable of those speeds your devices may not be.

So I'm supposed to have some high Gigabit Internet coming my way, a local provider has been running Fiber.

Yes, it's definitely important to make sure that your equipment supports the speed that you're paying for. I think that if you rent from your ISP, though, they generally will give you equipment that is capable of the speed that you pay for. It's always worth confirming, though.

Yeah, I think they're usually good about it. I just have a hard-time thinking that an average household utilizes a full 1 Gigabit uplink from their ISP but I may be wrong
