Have You Ever Taken Part in Making a Game?

I've recently been playing a game I helped write for a couple years ago, and it's a really weird experience. It made me wonder if any of my friends here have ever been part of game development in any capacity, and if so, have you gotten to play the games you helped make?

I've never been part of game development, but I would enjoy the opportunity! I've always thought that I have decent ideas for an MMORPG in particular.

I think working on an MMO would be really fun, but since I'm only good at writing.... yeah, that may not happen in my lifetime. xD
I have a friend who's making a game and I tried offering to help him once. He pointed out the thing he needs help with is the 'annoying stuff', and when I asked what that was, he was like "GUI and menu stuff, basically?". Me: "Okay nevermind then." xD

My dad knew how to code and worked on some games, but he never fully finished anything. It's hard to do so by yourself. XD

Same with my dad except he did finish one, I just never got to play it because we're talking like in the days of DOS (and it may have been kind of adult for me). xD

Yep! Dad's been using computers since their hay day, pretty much~ But unlike me, he can code! I tried learning some but... It hurts my skull.

I know how to do some very basic things. I'd love to learn more.

What language do you code in? I've got interest in Python and Javascript mostly... But when I was taking CompSci, I had to learn some C. -.-

I've done a bit in C#, mostly related to maintenance of private servers for Ultima Online that I have run over the years. I took a Java class in college, but I haven't really done much with the knowledge that I gained there (although I did get an "A"). xD
